A hidden gem with stunning views and intoxicating challenges
Designed by Artanan Yomchinda and opened in 1988, Royal Ratchaburi Golf Club is among the most popular and breathtaking golf courses in the Kanchanaburi area. The undulating terrain and stunning views of Burmese mountain ranges create an appealing yet challenging course. The greens are well-maintained, there's water seriously in play on 6 or 7 holes, and the undulating fairways pleasingly follow the natural hills' contours .
The front nine offers wider fairways than the back nine, which is reputedly more demanding. Several short but impressive par-3 holes require precise shots over deep canyons, and one plays to an attractive island green.
Trees, bunkers and water are all in play during a round here, but the real test are the greens. Regarded as some of the best in the area, they are full of slopes and hollows, and 100% focus is requiring when reading and executing putts.
Although the clubhouse, locker rooms, restaurant, and practice facilities are fairly basic, golfers do not come to Royal Ratchaburi for luxurious amenities. This course is considered a hidden gem and one of the top courses in the River Kwai region by the locals. It is an excellent stop for golfers traveling between Kanchanaburi and Hua Hin.
A word of warning though, beware of the wild monkeys that roam the course, including at the first. If a ball is not where you would expect it to be, there could be a special reason why.

The Clubhouse is so old.
This is an old course with a lot of mature trees, green is ok, easy to play. The green fee is low and that's why a lot of people playing this course. Had to wait each hole, no fun. The clubhouse is disgusting, no hot water supply. The caddies are not trained. If you play this course, you have to consider whether to take shower there.Another great day at a first class course.
Everything was great, a truly fantastic experience and fun day on a lovely course . Would recommend it as a place to play.A very very enjoyable well designed course.
Second game here love layout. Everything manicured nicely greens good and stop Golf shots. Caddies fun . Shame English not taught locally would help with communication but we managed with my limited Thai language.Course Info
